During my apprenticeship one of my subjects was anatomy. My teacher was so fascinated of the human body and his function that he infected me with this fascination immediately.
And the same time I found my big role model: Leonardo da Vinci. He studied the human body as well and so I connected those to hobbies. At the beginning I mixed up portraits and the anatomy (s. picture).
But soon after that I started to concentrate on the human organs - so I rented medical books to study all the structures and functions of every single organ I was interested in. The only detail I ignored where the bright colors used in those books. Short after I finished a few drawings I've got the chance to show my pictures in the practice of my general practitioner. There just couldn't be a better place for them.
